The GRID Access Layer is offering a clustered server infrastructure that uses common web standards likeSOAP, REST and HTTP/S to provide a clearly defined, multiplatform capable interface that covers the communication to and from theGRID.
Technically, the ACL application (as installed on an ACL node), consists of multiple modules running inside an embedded JEE environment and implementing a self contained, portable server process. The high level diagrams below illustrate the network installation and application structure:
Note:
GACL 1.2 is ready for usage, even though it still lacks some important features regarding
authentication and multisite processing.
See
Features & Roadmap
to get an overview what is there and what is missing.
Please be warned that public services will require authentication if used outside of the
TM network within the next minor releases.
Processing related internal services will require authentication regardless of the network
that is used.
